| I love them when they get up in the morning and are cold and the warmest place on earth is in my arms. I love them when they take a walk and all of the sudden they see something and stop and look closely at something God created and they are fascinated by it. I love them when they laugh really hard and their eyes almost shut because their smile is so big. I love them when they show you their muscles on their little bodies. I love them when you sit on the bed with them and they tell you their deep secrets (like the time they put your chapstick on the dog). I love them when they hug you real hard. I love them when they forgive you in a totally unconditional way. I hate them growing up so fast and wonder how I will ever survive without them.

| What a summer. We were blessed with a week at the beach this summer by
some very nice friends. We had a great time and the weather was
wonderful. I read James Herriott's All Creatures Great and Small while
my husband was reading "Research Methods for the Social Sciences".
Wonder which one of us is the more intellectual? We camped a lot this
summer in our new pop-up. The first time we used it the heavens opened
up and a Noah type downpour occured. Our pop up got very muddy but
stayed completely dry. We weren't attacked by any bears but it was
quite evident that the dumpsters weren't quite as lucky! We protected
ourselves by making spears. We tried to provide ourselves with food by
spearing carp, which we found out was actually legal to do in Allegheny
National Forest. It was a little frightening for the other beach goers
when all of our clan went running down to the water brandishing spears.
They were all into though when we caught some. We couldn't catch them
with spears but they came fast and furious when we put dough balls on
our hooks! Some were disappointed but we are French and Cuban not
Native American! | | |
| I woke up and walked with my friends in the Race for the Cure. That was a good time because they are so wonderful. I love, love, love, my group of friends. Then we went to church and then home to a big late breakfast, a nice nap and then we all played games. It is Mother's Day and I am blessed to have my 3 kids with me healthy, happy and so much fun to be around. That goes for my hubby too. I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers and my Armando made me a fruit salad that was so pretty on the plate. Later in the afternoon my Sylvia came up behind me and gave me a big hug and said "I am glad you are my mommy". Those things make life so thrilling.

| Sylvia is at a church retreat. Kennedy and Armando are at a Hunter's Safety Course and Machen is downstairs watching TV. The house is so quite. What should I do? I would love to lay on the couch with a good book while eating a bag of Dove chocolates.. But . . . you guessed it! I will throw in some laundry, vaccum up the enormous amounts of dog hair my dog no longer wants, unload the dishwasher and then sit with Machen and watch a G rated movie. Oh, well some day. . . . .

| I have been working full time for the past two weeks and I am ready for a month long vacation. I feel like such a baby because I am so tired. Then today I had to do the thing I hate the most. Go to Wal-Mart on a Saturday . I just hate that! But Kennedy came with me and I gave him half of the list and he practically ran through the store so he could get me out of there before I turned really ugly. He is so sweet. Even though he got up at 3:00 this morning to go turkey hunting, he was still his happy go lucky self today. No turkey's to be had, except the ones waiting for him at home. Gobble, Gobble!
